Happy Movember!

This November from here on out known as Movember. Movember is the global men’s health charity that encourages men to grow and women to support the moustache for 30 days to raise awareness and funds for men’s health – specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. We’ve created Team about.me to help support men’s health.

A handful of other people on the platform already support Movember!

So join, donate, and help spread awareness.

Be sure to add ‘movember‘ as a tag so others can find you. If you update your page for Movember please comment!

Where you are is part of who you are. This is abundantly clear during events like the World Series (Orange October)! Now, your about.me page can reflect where you are.

Adding a location to your page gives context to visitors. It also means you are more discoverable in Location specific search results. With Location search, you can find likeminded people in your community on about.me.

Architecting a page

When I think of architecture I think of design, structure and creativity. And the about.me pages of architects reflect these characteristics in full.

An API like no other

Have you ever wished that your about.me page was portable so you could magically recreate it on another website or mobile app?  Would you love to create a beautiful directory of your favorite people or simply add depth to your existing profiles?  Look no further!  We have just the API for you.

Initially we developed the about.me API as a way to programmatically expose the about.me universe for our awesome iPhone application.

However, we soon realized that others could benefit from having access to about.me pages. As a result we officially released the API to the world back in June. The API is made up of a collection of URLs that allow anyone the ability to use the about.me framework and existing data sets to supplement their product.

What does this really mean? It means that with a minimal amount of programming it’s possible to access your about.me page, your friends’ pages, our featured directories, get recommendations for pages of interest to you, find people nearby, and much more.

The API turns about.me into a powerful free platform that provides developers a ready-made identity service. So instead of spending costly resources on developing their own identity service, companies can focus on the problem they are solving, and leave the rest to about.me.

With the about.me API the possibilities are endless, so remember:
