If a picture is worth 1,000 words, make sure yours counts.
One of the best ways to draw someone into your page is with a great photo. Your photo should show off your personality and ideally gives someone a snapshot of who you are, or even what you stand for.
We’ve rounded up our top 3 photo tips for a photo that stands out and draws people into your story.
1. Be Friendly
While it’s important your page showcases your more serious professional aspirations, your photo is an opportunity for you to be personable and approachable. The most popular pages we see feature smiling faces. If your photo’s warm and friendly, you’ll draw people in to your page and they’ll want to learn more about you.
2. Showcase what you love.
Use your photo as an opportunity to show people what you love. A photo of you with a camera, if you’re a filmmaker, or in a kitchen, if you’re a chef, will help people start associating you with your hobby or profession.

3. Light The Way.
The one irreplaceable key to a great photo is capturing the light. You want to make sure your face is highlighted and that any background light is minimal, so you’re not distracting people away from your face. If you’re not comfortable balancing light in your photos yet, ask a friend to take your picture or browse our community for inspiration and tips from photographers.
