Children’s book illustrators on about.me

Many artists choose to use their about.me pages to display their art. This week, however we’d like to take a closer look specifically at children’s book illustrators. While their interests are diverse and extend far beyond illustration, all of them here used their works as a strong basis for great pages.

Among this group of artists we have imagination worker, Elissambura, of Argentina who illustrated this post header. Illustrator Bri Mercedes most enjoys drawing nature and fantasy creatures as you can see in her work of art below.

Traveling with about.me: Ukraine

In our travels this week we’re going to the country of Ukraine. Featuring prominently in the news for recent unrest in the country, we wanted to look past the conflicts and focus on the personalities and pages of our about.me members from Ukraine.

In our post header we have Roxy Kozhevenikova, fashionista, blogger and musician whose amazing photograph drew us into her page and Instagram feed kept us there. Let’s not forget self proclaimed geek, Aleksej Leonov, a developer who also enjoys photography and snowboarding.

Students of the Week

This week’s students really shine with their stunning photographs, fun biographies and varied interests. Siraj Muhammad, in our header image, is a great example with his pursuit of an engineering degree as well as interests in poetry and table tennis. Then there are the talents of Shannon Callihan who showcases her musicianship on her page with a great video of her singing and playing guitar.

So check out their pages and think of what you could add to yours to give the fullest representation of who you whether it be in the classroom, the workplace or everywhere else. This will make you stand out not just to recruiters but others in about.me community who connect with your interests and personality.

Athletes on about.me

We see athletes on TV all the time but most of us don’t know much about them off the field.  So today we’d like to feature just a few of the amazing athletes who have pages on about.me and their interests outside of sports.

Olympian and World Champion rower, Tom Paradiso (our post header) works in digital media in New York.  Meanwhile, Andia Winslow, is a professional golfer who thinks of colors in numbers (read more on her page to understand what she means) when she’s not racing skeleton.

Traveling with about.me: Chile

This week on our world tour we’re heading south, way south, to Chile. A very narrow country, its length nearly matches the width of the United States and is naturally full of different climates. They range from the driest dessert in the world, in the north, to one of the planet’s wettest regions, in the south.

The country also happens to be home to many wonderful about.me community members including our post header, Nicolas Copano, executive producer of MQLTV.com a Spanish-language television channel made for Youtube. We also have piano teacher, Michelle O’Ryan Gálvez and journalist Alejandro San Martín.
