Tell us about yourself.
I’m a singer and a songwriter who currently resides in Oslo, Norway. I travel and play music for a living, just founded my own indie label and have a not-so-secret passion for hand brewed coffee and salty licorice. Among other things.
When did you first become interested in music? Describe how your passion evolved into your career.
I’ve always had a head full of music, but it was when I started writing my own at 13 that things got interesting. It is so fascinating how music travels and one thing leads to the next. Looking back at it now, I’m very thankful to have trusted my instincts, dared to risk the comfort of staying close to home, and been an avid learner who in the beginning was like a sponge to all new experiences and ways to create music. I’ve been very lucky, and at the same time I have worked very hard to get where I am today. It’s all good.
You started out as a member of M2M, but now are an award-winning solo artist. What are the best things about working alone versus in a group?
Having someone on your side to share the joys and excitement, and also the responsibility and total life changes that came with it was invaluable. There was no way we would have reached that far had we been on our own back then. But being able to have all that knowledge under my sleeve when debuting as a solo artist at 22 was a whole different experience.

Where do you find inspiration for your music? Who inspires you?
It comes at the strangest times. I’m inspired by what I’ve learned and what I’ve had to learn all over again. And traveling this much, I have the advantage of meeting lots of interesting people along the way who inspire me in different ways.
What quote or mantra describe how you live your life.
I’m trying to stick to the mantra of always being at home where I am.
