“How can I make my page look good?” or “What can I do to improve my page?” are two questions which we frequently receive from members of our community via our Twitter and support page.
So today we’re going to dissect Jessica Gressa‘s page to show you how a great page should look. Then we’ll follow it up with 3 tips to help you easily create a compelling page for yourself.
Tip 1: Choose a great photo of you
When you’re selecting your background photo, keep these things in mind:
- This is your page, so naturally you should be the one in the photo. That way people can see who you are and get a sense of your personality.
- Avoid the middle. A photo where you’re slightly off-center is best as it ensures you have room for your biography box without covering your face. Pro tip: set your photo to “Fill Window” for more room to place your bio box.
Tip 2: Write a complete Biography
When it comes to writing your biography, remember to keep it short and sweet. The optimal length is between 4-6 sentences. Make sure to include information not just about your work but about you personally.
Tip 3: Add some apps
Apps help others easily learn more about you and your interests. Into photography? Show off your photos with Instagram, Flickr or 500px apps. Like to blog? Share your thoughts with WordPress, Medium or Blogger apps.
As always, if you need help or just want some feedback on your page, feel free to send us a tweet or visit our support page. Don’t forget to visit Jessica‘s page and send her some compliments.
